Hi there, I’m A!
I have more than 30 years of independent travelling experience. I grew up both in Sacramento, CA and Fairfield County, CT (I had a parent in each place). I took round-trip transcontinental flights three or four times per year by myself, from the ages of 5 to 17.
I have autoimmune “inflammatory” arthritis, a genetic collagen disorder, dysautonomia/POTS, and a mitochondrial disorder, among others. I am disabled due to mobility and energy limitations. I use tools and mobility aids to function daily, including a wheelchair.
My spouse and I currently have four inside-only cats- Lukas, Hank, and two of the most recent kittens we raised from 6 days old- Chickie and Dino Nugget. I love all animals, and my household always had a cat, a dog, and various amphibians in it, as I was growing up.
I love comedy, crafting, re-watching the same movies, fantasy novels, and dark chocolate. When traveling, I try to get “off of the beaten path” and away from common tourist attractions, and I love street food the best. At home, my favorite food is sushi, or like I call it, “sushi, but in a bowl” (poke.)
Places I’ve Lived or Have Family In:
- Sacramento metro area, California
- Stamford, Milford, and Stratford, Connecticut
- South Hadley/Pioneer Valley/Western Massachusetts
- Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Chico, California
- Newport/Bay Area, and Portland, Oregon
- Phoenix metro area, Arizona (currently where we live)
- Yuma, Arizona (just one summer for an internship)
My spouse and I have saved $1000’s on travel by using credit card rewards points, which we’ve earned with nothing more than our everyday “costs of living” spending. We use the rewards from credit cards to book hotels, flights, and excursions for either just the price of taxes or totally free! This way of paying for travel, with credit card rewards/points, instead of money, has made it possible for us to take trips we would never otherwise be able to afford. These are life-changing skills to learn.
Between showing paying for trips with “fake money”, and sharing all of my expertise to make traveling easier, my goal is to burst open the dams you may have built around [your ability of] taking trips. Travel is so important for the mind and soul, especially for those of us who are disabled and chronically ill. Everyone deserves the freedom of travel!
Welcome to my corner of the internet! Please take a look around. Get comfy. I’m glad you’re here. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments, or have requests for content I haven’t yet produced. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
